Fwd: Wiesenthal Center – “J'Accuse” to the European Union

image.jpeg

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Wiesenthal Center – “J'Accuse” to the European Union

Paris, August 8

TO: Mr. Josep Borrell-Fontelles

High Representative of the European Union

for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy

Mr. High Representative,

There is little doubt that Iran backs this week's Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) rocket bombing of Israel. The PIJ is known to be Tehran's proxy agent in Gaza and the West Bank, while Hezbollah is the one operating from Lebanon. For both terrorist organizations, the main objective is: the annihilation of Israel and the Jews.

The PIJ Secretary-General Ziad Nakhaleh is presently seeking operational and financial support from his puppet-masters of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) – the elite of Tehran's armed forces and considered a terrorist organization by the US. The PIJ has received some 70 million US$ from Tehran this year, and has been promised more if the sanctions were lifted.

The replacement of Al Qaeda's mastermind Ayman al-Zawahiri, who was “executed” this week, is Saif al-Adel, who was involved in numerous terrorist kidnappings, killings and bombings, from Daniel Pearl to 9/11. He has spent years in Tehran and is presently there under a form of “mutually convenient” soft house arrest, where Iran can dictate Al Qaeda's priority targets.

Despite sanctions, Iran's vibrating arms industry is presently supplying drones to Russia, including “loitering kamikaze” drones, that will be used to kill both Ukrainians and foreign volunteers.

Iran's IRGC fast attack craft out of Qeshm naval base have attacked oil tankers and cargo vessels in the strategically crucial Hormuz Strait shipping lane, perpetrating what is dubbed “energy terrorism” and piracy.

Tehran is directly involved in the Buenos Aires 1992 attack on the Israeli Embassy (29 dead and 242 injured) and the 1994 bombing of the AMIA Jewish Center (85 dead and over 300 wounded). Related Interpol “Red Notice” arrest warrants have been issued for 5 Iranians who are now main figures in the regime's hierarchy.

The network of IRGC foreign intelligence “Quds Force” sleeper cells as well as Iran-controlled Hezbollah operations pervade Latin American countries, from Venezuela to Argentina. Sleepers are also present in other countries of the Western hemisphere.

The Iranian regime detains European citizens as hostages, spuriously accused of “espionage” and withheld without due process. Bargaining chips for the lifting of sanctions?

Iran practices massive, gruesome and demonstrative death sentences – often by public hanging, firing squads or stoning. The “designated culprits” include minors and pregnant women. Among the most common “capital crimes” are homosexuality, apostasy and political dissidence…

Iran had transformed into a prison a former UNESCO school in Dezful, a town Iran has proposed for World Heritage Status. The “UNESCO prison” is reportedly used to detain, torture and execute minors.

For Reporters Without Frontiers (RSF), Iran's “press freedom index” ranking has deteriorated to 178th out of 180 countries studied. The pseudo-theocratic regime regularly arrests journalists.

Iran's current President, Ebrahim Raisi, is nicknamed “the Butcher of Tehran” for his three-decades reputation as Prosecutor, Attorney General and Chief Justice…

In June, as a gesture of hostility towards the IAEA nuclear proliferation watchdog, Iran disabled surveillance cameras meant to guarantee its bona fide in limiting the uranium enrichment process and renouncing the weaponization of nuclear energy.

In July, a senior advisor to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, stated that Iran is now “capable of making its first nuclear bomb, but still has to decide whether to build it.” Is this bullying or blackmail?

Mr. High Representative, is the EU still trying to convince the US on reviving the JCPOA? The revival would bring billions to Iran. Much would be promptly routed to finance the regime's genocidal network, be it the nuclear and ballistic missile programme, the support to its proxies PIJ, Hamas and Hezbollah, or furthering the international outreach of the IRGC.

According to multiple independent expert sources (CSIS, IISS Military Balance and IHS Jane's), Iran possesses the largest and most diverse ballistic missile arsenal in the Middle East (including cruise missiles), to date capable of reaching Israel and the Eastern Mediterranean. The JCPOA does not cover ballistic missiles.

Mr. High Representative, the situation reminds us of Neville Chamberlain's 1938 statement following his discussion with Adolf Hitler: “…I return from Germany bringing peace with honour. I believe it is peace for our time… Go home and get a nice quiet sleep.”

Mr. High Representative, in this perspective, is the JCPOA another blind “Peace for our time” gamble, or the price to pay for more cheap gas and oil? In both cases, it looks like a lose-lose deal.

We urge Europe to come to its senses and remain wide awake. Iran is a latter-day Nazi regime and its targets – at home and abroad – are those who would not comply with its intransigent dictates. Its explicit threat looms indiscriminately over Europe and the West.

Our warning, “J'Accuse”, would be too late.

Most respectfully

Happy reading in this meaningful time.

Fwd: Stop UNHRC's Anti-Israel COI

SWC_Global_wDonate_header.jpg

The Simon Wiesenthal Center is urgent the defunding and closure of the UN HumanUNHRC Rights Council's Commission of Inquiry (COI) on the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including East Jerusalem and Israel.

This comes after an anti-Semitic trope by Miloon Kothari – one of three members of the COI – charged that “Jews control social media,” that “Apartheid is not enough to explain the root causes…,” and questioned Israel's right to be a A member state. The other member, Chris Sidoti, charged, ”It seems that accusations of anti-Semitism are thrown around like rice at a wedding… .” They and COI Chair Navanethem Pillay accuses Israel of being an Apartheid State.

Therefore, the Simon Wiesenthal Center is urgent:

US Ambassador to the UN Linda Thomas-Greenfield and US diplomats to denounce Kothari's anti-Semitism

Secretary of State Blinken to reevaluate the US role in anti-Israel UN Human Rights Council

Congressional leaders on both sides of the political aisle to block any funding for the COI. Currently, the US pays for 22% of United Nations budget.

• European Union to support closing the fatally-flawed COI (see letter to EU Delegation Geneva head)

Democracies including the US, Canada, UK, France, and Japan demand that the UN Human Rights Council stop its serial targeting of Israel and instead expose the worst human rights outrages in China, Russia, and Iran.

The Simon Wiesenthal Center is an NGO at the United Nations, UNESCO, and other world bodies and will continue to monitor and act against anti-Semitism, on behalf of the rights of the Jewish people and human dignity everywhere.

We will keep you updated in the upcoming days and weeks to come. Stay connected.

Fwd: Wiesenthal Center Open Letter to Head of the EU Delegation at the UN in Geneva

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Wiesenthal Center Open Letter to the Head of EU Delegation at the UN in Geneva
Paris, 28 July

TO: Ambassador Lotte Knudsen

Delegation of the European Union to the UN

and other international organizations in Geneva

Dear Ambassador Knudsen,

We write on behalf of the Simon Wiesenthal Center, one of the largest international Jewish human rights organizations with over 400,000 members families in the United States, Europe and Latin AmericaWe are an accredited NGO at the United CountriesUNESCO, the OSCEthe OASand the Council of Europe.

We Express reaction regarding the heinousunacceptable
statements by UN Human Rights Council Commissioner Miloon
Kothari. Not only has he now falsely accused Israel of “apartheid,”
https://
mondoweiss.net/2022/07/apartheid-is not-sufficient-an-interview-with-un-human-rights-commissioner-miloon-kothari/, but even more egregious is Mr. Kothari's questioning the legitimacy of Israel to exist as a member of the United Nations.

Kothari
stated, “I would go as far as to raise the question of why [Israel is]
even a member of the United Nations. Because … the Israeli government
does not respect its own obligations as a UN member state. They, in fact, consistently, either directly or through the United States, try to undermine UN mechanisms.”

Kothari has given full-throated support to the biased, untruthful Human Rights
Council's “Independent International Commission of Inquiry (COI) on the
Occupied Palestinian Territory, including East Jerusalem, and Israel”,
also known as the Pillay Commission.

We take note that this extremist, in diplomatic clothing, intends to meet
in the coming days with United States Members of Congress in
Washington. The Wiesenthal Center is in contact with Congressmen to ban
Kothari and his COI colleagues from Capitol Hill, a measure we hope
to be emanated by the European Union.

This unprecedented UNHRC commission
-open ended- and unprecedented in scope, funded by millions of dollars
and 18 staff members with the sole objective
to investigate, demonize and prosecute the State of Israel in perpetuity – a threat no other nation on earth is facing.

For his part, Kothari
has already falsely labeled Israel an apartheid state and promises that
the Pillay Commission “will get to the apartheid question, at some
point in the future”; gathering “forensic data for submission to the
International Criminal Court and International Court of Justice,”…
“and then, at a particular time, hand it over to the judicial bodies
that can take action.”

Kothari is engaging in overt anti-Semitism, claiming
the “Jewish lobby” controls social media. The Jerusalem Post reported
this quote: “We are very disheartened by the social media that is
controlled largely by – whether it is the Jewish lobby or specific
NGOs,” stated 'human rights expert' Miloon Kothari.” See: https://
www.jpost.com/israel-news/article-713126

In October
2021, the Israeli ambassador to the United Nations in Geneva, sent a
protest to the then-President of the Human Rights Council, in which she
complained that the appointment of Navi Pillay, Christopher
Sidoti and Miloon Kothari, the three members of the COI, had
violated the rules and guidance of the Office of the UN High
Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) on commissions of inquiry and
fact-finding assignments.

By these rules and guidance, “members of such commissions
and missions should, in all cases, have a proven record of independence
and impartiality.” “There can simply be no doubt,” the letter
continued, “that these members are tainted by bias, let alone
the perception of bias, and cannot conceivably be regarded as
independent and impartial.”

The
Israeli letter added: “Mr. Kothari is also the subject of a formal
complaint to the OHCHR given his violation of UN regulations and ethical
standards when carrying out an 'unauthorized
official visit to Israel' as Special Rapporteur for Housing, which he had presented as a private academic visit.”

Kothari's history of misrepresentation to customs officials, about whether the purpose of his visits to foreign countries are also cited here: https://www.un.org/unispal/document/auto-insert-l 88268/

Madam Ambassador, this COI is a poison pill against peace and European goals, That
will embolden violence, terrorism, and anti-Semitism. We urge you to
publicly denounce Kothari's libelous statements, false accusations, and
anti-Jewish remarks against an ally, Israel, and the Jewish people.

The
Simon Wiesenthal Center urges the European Union to voice full support
for the elimination of the anti-Israel Commission of inquiry.

The UN Human Rights Council's ill-conceived COI and its continuous anti-Israel resolutions call for firm action.
The defunding of the COI and the UNHRC targeting the Jewish state,
instead of confronting outrages generated by China,
Russia or Iran, the worst human rights violators, who should be made accountable to the
Council. If that cannot be met, the world of democracies should leave
the UNHRC.

Madam Ambassador, we would welcome an opportunity to discuss these issues with you.

Most respectfully,

PA commits identity theft regarding South Africa and Namibia – opinion

The Palestinian leadership has constantly committed “identity theft” to validate their own historical narrative, as in the UNESCO World Heritage Committee. 'ID Theft' as a Form of Antisemitism

By SHIMON SAMUELS

Published: JULY 23, 2022 17:43

As a 16-year-old member of a Zionist youth organization, we demonstrated against apartheid outside the South African London Embassy.

Our heroes were the Jewish anti-apartheid figures in the UK, Israel and South Africa. Almost all those charged in the 1963 Rivonia Trial were Jews, namely Lionel Bernstein, Arthur Goldreich, Denis Goldberg, Harold Wolpe and others.

Nelson Mandela had noted, “I have found Jews to be more broad-minded than most whites on issues of race and politics. Perhaps because they themselves have historically been victims of prejudice.” I was in Johannesburg on that euphoric day of Mandela's release.

Apartheid had begun three years after the Holocaust, promoted by the Nationalist Party and the rigid Verkrampte faction, with a background of anti-Semitism, expressed through their saying: “the Jew has a white face, but a black heart!” Five years later, I visited the Apartheid Museum in Johannesburg. Any Jewish connection had been removed. The curator was embarrassed by my questions.

In 1994, a Wiesenthal Center sting led to Bariloche, Argentina, revealing a roll of names of neo-Nazis, predominantly in South Africa. This resulted in the arrest of a group bent on bringing European assassins to murder listed members of the official Anti-Apartheid Committee.

For the first on the list, Chris Hani, it was too late. He had been shot by a Polish immigrant, Janusz Walus, close to the white supremacist Conservative Party. Second on the list was Judge Richard Goldstone.

During a visit, I and our then Latin American director, Sergio Widder, were invited by Goldstone to a “thank you” dinner in Johannesburg. We would have declined, if only we had known of his later report on Gaza, castigating Israel.

Identity theft

The Palestinian leadership has constantly committed “identity theft” to validate their own historical narrative, as in the UNESCO World Heritage Committee, where over the years they claimed numerous sites, from the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem to the Temple Mount, renaming the Kotel “al-Buraq Plaza” and still on the wish list, even demanding property over the Dead Sea Scrolls.

The new “apartheid” campaign against Israel is based on lies and identity theft, adopted by Amnesty International, presently including South Africa and Namibia – the latter bearing a horrifying history.

Moving from Jo'burg to Windhoek, I was hosted by the late Jewish leader Harold Pupkewitz, who pointed out that the capital of Namibia still held streets with German names, such as Kaiserstrasse… a vestige of Germany's colonial bite of Africa, from 1884 until 1919, lost in the aftermath of World War I.

Indigenous Herero

In 1904, the German colonists began the genocide of the indigenous Herero, Nama and San peoples, who were systematically either deported to the Namib desert, or interned on Shark Island and died of abuse, starvation and medical experiments, by forerunners of Mengele, the monstrous doctor of Auschwitz.

Hundreds of skulls had also been shipped back to German universities. Some form of compensation was only granted in 2021.

Pupkewitz suggests, “if you want a Nazi experience, visit Peter's African Artifacts in Swakopmund.” The next day, I took an early flight and went to the shop. After dropping a few neo-Nazi names in Europe, I asked where to find Hitler memorabilia.

Peter explained that he was purchasing Nazi artifacts from second- or third-generation Germans who intended to return to the Fatherland. He then opened “abracadabra” revealing shelves of nostalgic hate. These “non-African artifacts” were sold mostly to German tourists.

I bought several original LPs of Nazi songs, especially in praise of the 1936 Berlin Olympics. On the way out, I noticed T-shirts with swastikas. Peter told me they were sold and shipped in bulk to Germany. He then directed me to the Altes Amtsgericht – Hohenzollernhaus, where Hitler's birthday parties had been annually organized.

Back in Windhoek, Pupkewitz advised to write to president Samuel Daniel Nujoma, the founder of SWAPO (the South West Africa People's Organization). Wounded in fighting the South African apartheid occupants of Namibia, he was treated by a Jewish doctor, who made him aware of the Holocaust.

Our request was to expel Peter and close down African Artifacts. Due to the fact that he held only a German passport and had no Namibian citizenship, his expulsion was organized by Joshka Fischer, then foreign minister of Germany. Apparently, thereafter, Peter disappeared.

The occupation by South Africa from 1915 until 1990, especially in the years of apartheid, is a case-study abused by those Palestinians dealing in identity theft. We call on both South Africa and Namibia to advise Amnesty International that they will not allow their identity to be abused.

Gilles-William Goldnadel: "The sickly anti-Zionism of the extreme left"

By Gilles William Goldnadel

Posted 12 minutes ago, updated just now

FIGAROVOX/CHRONICLE
- A
forty deputies from the four left-wing groups in the Assembly co-signed a motion for a resolution calling for the condemnation of "the institutionalization by Israel of an apartheid regime". For the lawyer, part of the left is struggling to compromise
with anti-Semitism.

Gilles-William Goldnadel is a lawyer and essayist.
Every week, he deciphers the news for FigaroVox.

I won't be ridiculous about discussing the Israel boycott resolution,
tabled by thirty-eight deputies of this extreme
left
which does not exist, for lack of naming it, inspired by an imaginary Islamo-leftism, invented it seems from scratch by the extreme right.

As a matter of principle, I refuse to argue against anti-Semitism when
I feel it in my educated flesh.

When I know the insult to disqualify – Nazism or apartheid – deliberately replaced the documented argument.

When I see an obsessive resentment, like filing a resolution, all business ceasing, just days after their election,
while France struggles in immense and urgent difficulties.

When a disproportionate double standard is applied to the Jewish individual or the Jewish state,
while we close our eyes to Islamic terrorism which massacres in Israel - Palestine Jews or Sept
hundred christians
in the last three months in Nigeria in silence.

When finally the state of the Jewish people is treated like the Jew of the states.

I know very well who I have to deal with. And I don't argue.

The only double and sad interest of this new leftist parliamentary clowning is to note once again that anti-Semitism, in France, is
embodied essentially by the far left in its most dangerous political or intellectual manifestation.

And that this leftist anti-Semitism corresponds very exactly to the portrait of the overthrown Jew, as hated yesterday by the extreme right.

“This left-wing Palestinianism, which blindly espouses the Arab narrative of Palestine, is only an avatar of Islamo-leftism. »

Gilles-William Goldnadel

More generally, my reader knows well that the fight that I lead against the dangers of an extreme left treated with too much benevolent indulgence is
my first fight.

It is in this context that I recently published, on purpose to provoke debate, a Manual
of resistance to far-left fascism.

Obviously, in one chapter, I had wanted to pay special attention to the unhealthy anti-Zionism of the extreme left, which in my opinion is one of the manifestations
the most obvious of its fascist drift.

Before explaining that this left-wing Palestinianism, which blindly embraces the narrative
Arab from Palestine, is only an avatar of the Islamo-
leftist, I would like to write that one can perfectly be sensitive to the Palestinian Arab cause without being a Palestinian.

I have always maintained that the Arabs of Palestine had a good record which they had miserably sacrificed on the altar of a closed Islamo-nationalism
to any territorial compromise.

All the governments of the Israeli left from Fathers to Barak will have proposed to the representatives
the Arabs of Palestine control of almost all of the disputed territories, including part of Jerusalem
- East
.

The end of a State for the Jewish people on the smallest part of a territory which they consider as theirs for historical-religious reasons, interests them
much more than the creation of yet another Arab-Muslim state on a part of the territory coveted by two peoples with competing legitimate rights.

This lament of the absence of a partner for a definitive peace through a territorial compromise which requires two, certainly does not make me forget
the mediocrity of the Israeli political personnel, recruited by an electoral system with full proportional representation that is criminogenic.

But even the most enlightened of Israeli politicians cannot remedy an Islamic-Palestinian irredentism fascinated by terrorist violence.
and anti-Semite which, precisely, the Palestinians of the extreme left regard with tenderness.

Thus, the extreme left shows benevolence towards the terrorist movement
from the Muslim Brotherhood, Hamas, basically and
officially anti-Semitic, who regularly sends missiles into Israel, while she watches Israel's democratic state be replicated with boundless sternness.

For the first, maximum indulgence and compassion; for the second, detestation and indifference towards its inhabitants.

This leftist indifference to the plight of Jews in Israel is the same stale water that stares blankly at French Jews being made
massacred by homegrown or imported Islamists.

I come to mutant anti-Semitism, as I had already described it in le
New Breviary of Hate
 (Ramsey 2001).

“The far-right fascist abhorred the stereotype of the spineless, stateless Moth Jew. Far-left fascist abhors stereotype of nationalist Jew
and belligerent. »

Gilles-William Goldnadel

It must be understood that in the unconscious of the Islamo-leftist, the most fanatical
of the Palestinian Arabs is lovable because he embodies otherness and the Israeli Jew detestable because he defends the borders
western nation-state
, like a common French patriot wearing a beret.

Let's go further: while the extreme left adores the deported Jew in striped pajamas, it sees the Israeli who defends himself as a white square.

The far-right fascist abhorred the stereotype of the spineless, stateless Moth Jew. Far-left fascist abhors stereotype of nationalist Jew
and belligerent.

"Tell me how you are, I'll tell you how
I hate you"
, says the timeless anti-Semite to the Jew of the present.

With the help of this explanatory description of an anti-Semitic virus mutating through Jewish history, we can understand that those in France who take without hesitation
for cash the accusations of a family of delinquents rather than the assertions of the French police that they accuse of being systemic racist, are very exactly the same who do not see any problem with Hamas bombarding blindly
the Israeli population but see as an infamy the obligation to reply to it by targeting the terrorists but at the risk of hitting civilians deliberately used as shields.

It is therefore under the influence of this ideology, which is not characterized by its finesse, that in France, the PCF, the Insoumis or a few ecologists in perdition
politically embody this viral Islamo-leftism, as much out of lethal ideological passion as out of vital electoral necessity.

This is how Mélenchon has always supported the anti-Semite Corbyn. He is also the leader of insubordinate France, David Guiraud (signatory of the resolution
aforementioned parliamentarian) who, last May, did not hesitate on Twitter to make believe that young Jews were dancing with joy at the sight of the Al Aksa mosque on fire. It was just two burning trees…. Although I had denounced this false information
and that the very serious Samira El Gadir, tracker of lies on TF1, has followed suit, our political arsonist of the suburbs has not given up his inflammable firebrand. Yet from Ilan Halimi to Mireille Knoll via the hyperkosher
and Mohammed Merah, the Islamic dangerousness for French Jews is neither speculation nor fantasy.

But one cannot apprehend this perversion of political Islamo-leftism without noting the associative or media drifts of the last decade.

“On the media level, Palestinianism benefits from a firepower identical to its Islamo-leftist ideological matrix. »

Gilles-William Goldnadel

Thus, Amnesty International, which specifically accused Israel against the blinding factual evidence of apartheid practices, is no longer that respectable organization
which once had the noble purpose of freeing prisoners incarcerated for political reasons.

Amnesty is today a leftist NGO which campaigns in favor of illegal migrants and its new president had already discredited herself by relaying, on
social networks, a false information accusing Israel of having poisoned Arafat, which even the latter's widow, Souha, does not support...

On the media level, Palestinianism benefits from a firepower identical to its Islamo-leftist ideological matrix.

The same newspapers developing the theme of a racist French police have, logically, espoused the tendency towards infinite severity for one and indulgence
without limits for the Other.

It is thus, to take only the most baroque example, that le
World
(who also officially supported Corbyn against Johnson in an editorial) is now regularly publishing the one-sided articles of a militant journalist, Clothilde Mraffko, who, at the same time, in a Middle East magazine
Eye, financed according to La Tribune , by the Muslim Brotherhood, accuses the Zionists of having disfigured Palestine by planting trees and draining swamps.

The shameful resolution of misguided parliamentarians is therefore only the latest avatar without major consequences of this political and media Islamo-leftism that
inconsistent moral arrogance cannot face it.

I saw that the organized Jewish community wanted to denounce it.

Let it be allowed to those who have been crying in the desert for too long that it is not the ghostly far-right that is the danger but the far-left in
media majesty, to whisper that better late than never.

But that it is all the same very late for the French Jews.
